My Sailing Journey

I can remember my Dad saying that I should sail instead of training for the sport I was doing when I was 11 to 18 years old. I so wished I had listened to him! Dad taught me to sail when I was about 18, since then there have been times when I have sailed on holidays, a weeks sailing course at Uni and recreational sailing. When our lads were teenagers we joined Bartley, that was about 16 years ago. Tim (youngest son) and I occasionally raced with me crewing, James (oldest son) sailed with Mike, Tim or I or whoever was around. We then had a spell where we hardly sailed. However, it has been the last couple of years that I have wanted to sail more and learn to race without coming last all the time. I love training sessions and could do with more. I am very grateful to those sailors who have given their time to help me develop new skills and gain in confidence (something I seem to have lost along the way) and sail in a race!
