Membership fees 2024-25
The membership year for sailing members is from November 1st to October 31st; the membership subscriptions are detailed below. These may be paid either annually (at the start of the Membership year) or if available by monthly Direct Debit.
Sailing Club opening times are Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday afternoons, and Tuesday & Wednesday evenings in the summer.
SUP Club opening times are:
- Tuesday: 18:00-20:00 Leisure SUP (Summer)
- Wednesday: 18:00-20:00 Leisure SUP (Summer)
- Saturday: 10:00-16:00 Leisure SUP
- Sunday: 10:00-16:00 SUP CLUB - Leisure Paddling available after SUP Club

Day Sailing
If you would like to join in club sail racing on Saturday or Sunday and are not a club member, but a member of another sailing club, you can purchase a day sailing ticket for £15 see here for details.
Conditions of membership:
- A commitment should be made to joining the club for a minimum period of 1 year.
- Members are required to abide by the club rules (amendments made from time to time) and the RYA racing charter. See here for details
- If you do not have Power Boat level 2 qualification, you are required to book this course with Andrew Simpson Centre Birmingham at a 'club member discount rate'.
- Members are expected to do rescue duty 2 times per year minimum (sailing membership) or 1 duty per year minimum (paddle membership / winter membership) when rostered. Rescue duties are scheduled and can then be swapped with other members using the website system if you can't attend the allocated date.
- Members will maintain current boat insurance as required by the club for each and every boat used at Bartley SC, other than boats specifically owned, insured and maintained by the club itself.
- All privately owned boats in the boat park require an associated club membership and must pay the boat space fee regardless of membership type.
- Severn Trent Water regulations must be observed at all times when present at Bartley Sailing Club.
- The safety of a boat and all persons on board and its entire management, including insurance, shall be the sole and inescapable responsibility of the owner or skipper in charge of the boat. Each person shall be responsible for his or her decision to go afloat or to continue sailing. The Club shall not be liable for loss of or damage to property or for personal injury (including death) however caused occurring in the course of events (including races) organised by the Club.
- SUP members need to be competent at Stand-Up Paddle Boarding to the level of 'Club Paddler'
- Junior members are required to have a responsible adult taking full responsibility for the junior member on site at all times they are using the water unsupervised by a qualified instructor.
