Steering the Course - Cecily Webb

Hi, I'm Cecily! I've been sailing at Bartley for about 8 years, and like Megan, I started sailing at Bartley K20.
I remember loving optimist sailing, and then being excited to move up into the double-handed fevas, which I continued with for a couple of years. Then, I wanted to try my hand at single-handed sailing and so I started sailing the topper. In only my second time in the boat, I went and competed in the East Midlands Regional competition, and had a blast!
I continued with the topper throughout 2019, and early 2020, competing in open meetings and other events at Bartley and away, and then lockdown struck. I was desperate to return to sailing after such a long hiatus, but I no longer wanted to sail the topper, and so as soon as the club reopened, I had my first sail in a Laser, and was convinced that that was the boat I wanted to sail. I started off in the 4.7 during the winter of last year, and now have generally moved up to a Radial, saving the 4.7 for those heavier winds!
