Novices and Improvers - we need your views!

We are inviting our less experienced sailing members to complete a short survey.

At the recent volunteers meeting held on 4th March a small group of us were asked to see if the club is offering the appropriate support for potential and existing members who are new to sailing or who haven't sailed very much and are looking to improve. This was referred to as the "Novice pathway" and the group members tasked were Steve Ward, Sally Harris, Roger Pass and Tony Jacks.

The first thing the group did was agree on a definition of this "pathway" in order to identify which part of the current or potential membership we were thinking about. The image shows what we came up with.

From this we decided our target groups are the Beginners and the Improvers.

Our next step was to look at what the club currently offers, and there is a lot, to see if it is what these target groups want or need. We had lots of ideas but of course those who really know are those people we are looking to support. So we felt we needed to ask them before we did anything. To this end, and with the help of the technical skills of Chris Oats, we have put together a short survey which we are inviting all those current members who feel they belong in the Beginner or Improver groups to complete. We are seeking both your experience of being members of the club and what you are looking for in order to enjoy your sailing with Bartley.
