A Busy Weekend Home and Away!

It seems that since lockdown the events have picked up and there are so many options for our sailors it is difficult to chose which events to attend and whether to play home or away! Here is a brief round up of the last few weekends:

Millie attended her first national event in the Toppers managing 55th out of 99 competitors with her highest placing 14th out of the 46 in her flight full report here: Topper Inlands

Steve Ward and Mike Acaster managed a fantastic 9th place in a fleet of 140 at the Ullswater Yacht Club Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy

In the Supernova Nationals Sam Knight was 3rd, Mike Gibson was first Veteran with Garry Butterfield close behind, and Sean Ricketts first youth with a fantastic 23rd place in a fleet of 117.

Finally George Fereday took the Bronze at the Notts County Laser Open on Sunday, race report here Lasers at Notts County

Well done to all our travelling sailors - some great results and great experiences from further afield.

Closer to Home our juniors continue to enjoy K2O on Saturday mornings and the Andrew Simpson Centre training is beginning to take off with a full session in Pico's on Saturday afternoon plus a great sight - some people learning to windsurf! Despite many sailors being away at events the club still managed a very healthy turnout for the club racing in some amazingly shifty conditions!

This weekend sees the UKLA returning to train 14 ILCA (Laser) youth sailors ready for the summer youth nationals and nationals following on straight after. The following Sunday is the SUP Birthday Bash - not to be missed by our paddlers.
