RYA Course Booking Conditions
Training sessions will be delivered by Bartley SC Training Centre in accordance with RYA training centre guidance and staffed by appropriately qualified and experienced RYA instructors.
- Bartley SC Training Centre reserves the right, at all times, to cancel bookings at our discretion. In the event that a course is cancelled by Bartley SC Training Centre our liability will be limited to return of the course fee. If we need to cancel a booking, we'll always try to give at least 24 hours' notice and every effort will be made to book the participant onto another course.
- You can cancel or reschedule a booking by emailing training@bartleysailingclub.com. Your options depend on how much notice you give us:
Notice given Refund options 7 days or more Full refund or reschedule to another date Between 48 hours and 7 days Full refund if you present a doctor's note stating why you can't complete your booking Less than 48 hours No refund available - For RYA Courses, all under 17's must be accompanied by a parent or carer at the beginning and end of the session. Parents or carers must also be contactable for the duration of the session.
- Neither Bartley SC Training Centre nor any of its employees or agents shall be liable in any way whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to property.
- Bartley SC Training Centre must be informed, at the time of booking, of any medical condition affecting the participant, or of any medication taken by the participant that could affect their taking part in the training session, e.g. epilepsy, dizziness, asthma, diabetes, heart condition. Although every effort will be made to make all courses fully inclusive Bartley SC Training Centre reserves the right to refuse any booking on medical grounds.
- All bookings are accepted on the understanding that any instructions or directions given by any member of the training centre's staff are to be observed. Participants are asked to respect the equipment provided; compensation will be sought from anyone deliberately causing damage to equipment.
- Bartley SC Training Centre reserves the right at all times to refuse or restrict the use of facilities. The right is also reserved to evict anyone who refuses to comply with the conditions as stipulated, or who behaves inappropriately or, in any way, causes damage or annoyance to any other persons.
- Participants are to wear suitable clothing and footwear when going on the water as described in the joining instructions. Please bring a change of clothing, as boating activities can be wet. Specialist sailing kit such as wetsuits or dry suits are advised.
- If any injuries are sustained or damage to valuables occurs, participants are to notify the centre's staff immediately.
- RYA courses are delivered according to the relevant syllabus. Certificates will only be awarded on satisfactory completion of the syllabus.
