Notice of Race

1.Organising authority

The organising authority is Bartley Sailing Club.

2.Rules

The rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) will govern this regatta. Bartley Sailing Club has adopted The R.Y.A Racing Charter.

The Covid 19 protocols provided must be adhered to at all times during this event.

3.Classes and eligibility

Racing will take place in Supernova Class dinghies. All Traveller Series competitors must be members of the Supernova Class Association. All boats must comply with the Supernova class rules as amended by the class association. Local host club Supernova helms may compete but their results will not count towards Traveller Series results unless they are Supernova Class members.

4.Times

Gates will open from 9.00am on 20th June 2021.

Breakfasts will be available from 9:30am or thereabouts. This is not included with the entry fee.

Registration will take place at Bartley Sailing Club from 09.30 to 10.30am.

There will be a briefing for competitors in the vicinity of the race office at 10:30 hours, or as soon as possible afterwards.

First race is scheduled to start at 11.00 hours followed, back to back, by the Second Race. The Third Race will be after lunch.

The number of races and timing is indicative and will depend on weather conditions.

All Visitors attending Open Events at Bartley S.C. are kindly reminded that upon arrival all boats must be rinsed in the boat wash area. This is a Severn Trent stipulation, so please arrive early enough prior to your racing to rinse your dinghy.

5.Entries

The entry fee for the event is £10.00. Lunch and light refreshments including tea and coffee will be available from the galley throughout the day.

All competitors under the age of 18 years at the time of the event are required to complete a parental declaration form, signed by their parent or guardian, in addition to an entry form. The parental declaration form will be available at registration.

6.Sailing Instructions

Sailing Instructions have been sent to the class association and will be published on the club website www.bartleysailingclub.com, they will also be available upon registration at Bartley Sailing Club from 09.30 hours.

7.Racing Area

The racing area will be Bartley reservoir, limited as defined in the Sailing Instructions.

8.Rights to Use Names and Likenesses

Competitors automatically grant to the organising authority, without payment, the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of all media relating to the event. They also allow their names, age category, club and boat details to be displayed in competitors lists prior to the event and in results, on the Bartley Sailing Club website and in other subsequent publications.

9.Prizes

Prizes will be awarded on the day for at least 1st, 2nd, 3rd, overall.

The organisers reserve the right to decide eligibility of prizes.

  • 10.Coaches & Supporters

No coach or support boats will be permitted. Coaches & supporters accompanying competitors are required to comply with the principles of good sportsmanship and behaviour, the rules of Bartley Sailing Club and the Supernova dinghy class. Failure to do so may result in investigation by the regatta organisers, and potentially in an instruction to leave the premises of Bartley Sailing Club, disqualification, etc.

  • 11.Safety

Please be aware that personal flotation must be worn by anyone going onto the launching area (this is anywhere beyond the water gates), this is a vital safety rule of BSC and Severn Trent.

  • 12.Points system

One race is required to be completed to constitute an event. There will be one discard if three races have been completed and no discards if less than three races are completed.

The low points system as provided in RRS Appendix A will apply on the days of the event.

  • 13.Insurance

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000 for any one accident and shall sign a declaration to that effect before going afloat.
