K2O training

UPDATE: Juniors training to resume from 11th July.

We are pleased to be able to resume part of our juniors training programme.

From 11th July, we will welcome back juniors who have achieved Stage 2 or above.

There will be changes to the usual operating practices to promote your safety and follow government and RYA guidelines.

Families will be contacted directly to gauge interest.

For new starters and those working towards S2, we hope to be able to offer something later in the season.

Bartley Sailing Club has an active youth training programme, which we call K2O. We have around 50 members, aged 8 to 17 and regularly have over 30 sailors out on Saturday mornings; many of these are now participating in the adult racing series.

Courses or assessments for new K2O members will be advised individually. K2O will run until end of September 2020. Thereafter, weather permitting, the experienced sailors may continue to join in the Saturday Handicap Race 1. This will be supported by an Instructor where possible.

For more information, or to reserve a place, please contact us via (Parents are reminded to email as soon as possible to confirm your child's place in K2O  for 2020.)

Documents: What To Wear

All sessions start promptly at 9:30 unless otherwise stated.

Winter sailing

From October K2O can take part in the club Junior/Novice race on a Saturday morning. K2O members will need to have gained RYA Youth Stage 3. These “Winter” activities are not formally supervised by Instructors. It is up to each parent / guardian whether the conditions and safety cover is suitable for their child to sail.

We will endeavour to have an Instructor on site to give advice. Otherwise speak to the Officer of the Day who is responsible for the day’s water activities.
