Celebrating Bartley Sailing Success

Celebrating Bartley Sailing Success

With the Annual prize giving just around the corner for our club racing (date to be announced shortly) we thought it would be nice to share Bartley Sailors' achievements in competitions away from the club as a kind of 'roll of honor' for 2017.

For example did you know...

Bartley S.C. has the '1st Club' prize from Sharps Doombar Merlin Rocket Week in Salcombe and as a result will host a prestigious 'Silver Tiller' event in March at BSC with the club flag flying over Salcombe Yacht Club at the 2018 Merlin Rocket week?

A Bartley helm has won the West Midlands and Wessex Laser traveller series enabling us to host the last event of the season in 2018 to include the West Midlands Traveller prize giving?

Bartley Juniors won the National Schools Sailing Association Rookie Topper trophy, and the 'Bubbles' RS Tera trophy at Junior Camel Week sponsored by John Bray Holidays and Anns Cottage?

So if you, or someone you know who is too modest to celebrate their success, achieved any positions of note in regattas, juniors, youths, nationals, opens, europeans, worlds please let me know so we can display in the club house and give visitors and club members an appreciation of what Bartley sailors are achieving in the wider sailing world.

Please e-mail your name, boat class, achievement, and any photos to and I will include them on the display.

Thanks in advance for your support in positively marketing our sailors' successes.

Junior Regatta at Midland Sailing Club

Junior Regatta at Midland Sailing Club

6th May 2017 between 9am & 5pm

The Bartley Juniors have been invited to compete in a Junior Regatta at Midland Sailing Club on 6th May 2017

For those in K2O a detailed flyer will be e-mailed shortly to get an idea of numbers. Those Bartley SC club juniors not in K2O are more than welcome to attend provided you sail one of the classes below and are under 18. The key points from the NOR are:

  • Gold and Silver fleets to reflect competency level

  • Under 18s only

  • Registration from 9.00 onwards at Midland Sailing Club at Edgbaston Reservoir

  • Classes are RS Feva, RS Tera, Cadet, Topper, Laser 4.7 and Laser Radial, Optimist

If you want to know more about the event, or about the use of the club boats in the above classes for the event, please drop me an e-mail and I will happily answer any questions.

This is a great opportunity for our growing fleet of youngsters to get some racing experience against local clubs – and maybe even win some prizes…

    Thanks
