ASF / UKLA training

The ILCA (Laser) training by the UKLA coaches in partnership with Andrew Simpson Foundation took place over the weekend with 12 participants across all 3 rigs. The wind was light which made it perfect for roll tack practice followed by start line manoeuvres to hold position and accelerate fast when the gun went. The feedback from participants was that this session in particular had been a game-changer for them in terms of the process required for each area of focus. Now it is just a matter of putting it into practice at club races, Open meetings, and, for a few of our participants at the youth Nationals and UKLA Nationals! Thanks to the coaches - great job as always, and thanks to the parents (logistics co-ordinators, funding providers, boat repairers, counsellors, motivators, caterers and so much more) for bringing the youths and junior sailors along.
